Overseas Indians constitute a vast reservoir of potential investors, entrepreneurs and corporate leaders whose enterprise can be deployed in India. They also represent knowledge, expertise and skills in diverse sectors that can potentially be invested in rapid economic growth and today offers considerable investment opportunities and is a preferred investment destination. The financial services division seeks to pursue a partnership between these two potential partners. Simply put, to try and make the overseas Indian an active participant in the India growth story.

The focus of the financial services divisions is on:

• Facilitating ease of doing business in India without adding transaction costs.
• Enabling the overseas investors to benefit from the opportunities in India by facilitating appropriate advisory and hand holding services through market driven knowledge partners.
• Catalyzing sustainable B-to-B partnerships between Indian and overseas Indian businesses.
• Enabling value addition to the investible knowledge skills and expertise of overseas Indians.

Financial Services provided by the MOIA include:

• Promotion of investment by Overseas Indians in India, including innovative investments and policy initiatives
• Establishment of an institutional framework that can facilitate the investment process

To achieve the objective of overseas Indian’s investment in India, MOIA has setup an Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC), a non-profit Trust, in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). OIFC provides investment facilitation and knowledge network for overseas Indians. With the help of OIFC, the Division offers information and guidance on a variety of subjects related to investment policies, emerging investment opportunities and other financial services.

Besides the above, MOIA's Financial Services Division also prepares MOIA’s budget in consultation with the Financial Advisor and the Budget Division of the Ministry of Finance.
